WIGAN 1 ARSENAL 4

Arsenal recovered from an early Mido strike to stun Wigan with four second-half goals and collect an away win.

Mido volleyed in a deserved opener in a lively first-half display but Theo Walcott equalised on the hour after good work by Andrey Arshavin.

Mikael Silvestre converted a pass from Cesc Fabregas and Arshavin punished a shocking error by Jason Koumas.

Alexandre Song rounded things off for the Gunners by dancing through the defence to stroke home the fourth.

But the result was extremely harsh on a Wigan side whose defensive effort and all-round industry enabled them to more than match Arsenal's artistry for much of the game.

YIPPEE!!!! WE SIGN ANDREI ARSHAVIN FINALLY!!!

Arsenal's club record signing was already calling himself a'Gooner' with his limited English after signing autographs for fans outside the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday .

Arsene Wenger said: "Andrei is an exciting impact player with a huge amount of ability and has been an influential force with both Zenit St Petersburg and the Russian national team in recent seasons."

Russian international striker Andre Arshavin had hinted at a possible move to the london giants after admitting he was a fan of the club.

The 27-year old Zenit St.Petersburg striker has been in exotic form since he appeared in the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland and had been therefore linked with several top European clubs from England, Italy and Spain.

Earlier this week Arshavin was spotted at a Herts hotel so it did,nt take to much to work out he was Going to sign for Arsenal.

Arsenal 3 Hull 1

Arsenal had to overcome a spirited fightback from Hull to keep up the pressure on the Premier League's top four with victory at the KC Stadium.

An Emmanuel Adebayor header opened the scoring from a corner seconds after a Robin van Persie free-kick hit the bar.

But Hull roared back with Daniel Cousin nodding in Bernard Mendy's cross.

The Gunners grabbed all three points as Samir Nasri coolly slotted in Van Persie's pass and Nicklas Bendtner poked in from close range at the end.

Manchester City's world record bid for AC Milan's Brazilian

The Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Milan gave Manchester City permission to talk to Kaka on Tuesday with City representative and notorious Iranian-born agent Kia Joorabchian making contact with Kaka's father and agent Bosco.

Kaka himself was quoted as saying that he was happy to stay at AC Milan if the club did not want to sell him, but he has given every indication in the past that he would love to play in the English Premiership at some stage in his career.

He is already one of the best paid players in the world and his spokesman Diogo Kotscho said it would not be money that would prove decisive.

"It's not impossible for Ricky (Kaka) to transfer to Manchester City as long as the English club demonstrates it is preparing to become one of the best teams in the world," he said.
